As people age, more health problems come out from head to toe. It’s part of life, some people would say but the truth is, we can prevent these unhealthy conditions if we’re only conscious enough of our physical well-being.
Take for instance our eyes, the so-called “windows of our soul.” Sometimes because of the fact that we can still see things clearly, we tend to take them for granted. We read books in whatever way we want, we work in front of the computer for hours without resting our eyes and then wash our face. The result? Vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and so on that leads us to wear eyeglasses for many years or for life.
Now for people whose 20/20 vision is no longer possible and are hooked to an eyeglass, proper usage is also vital. Always clean your eyeglasses every day to enable you to see clearly. Wipe them with a soft cloth or you can use those lens cleaners available in the market.
Check the fit of your eyeglass every now and then and visit your optometrist or ophthalmologist twice a year, if possible. This way, you will know if you need to have your lenses upgraded or not. Don’t limit yourself to just a pair of eyeglasses because you have the freedom to have more than one if you wish. For people exposed to the computer every day, there is a specific type of lense that you can use. Consult your doctor about it.
The lesson here is to take care of our eyes just like how we take care of our face, our abs, our hair and our whole body, in general. Remember that our eyes make us see the beauty around us and so we should respect them apart from taking good care of them.
